2026/2027 Select Soccer Program

High School Boys | Montgomery County, Maryland

A competitive, developmental soccer program designed for high school athletes who want to continue playing, improve their technical ability, and compete throughout the 2026/27 season.

2026/27 Competitive Schedule

The program is structured to provide competition across multiple formats and seasons:

MD Soccerplex 7v7 Indoor Winter League HSB 

MD Soccerplex 11v11 Outdoor Winter League HSB 

PPP Spring Classic Weekend Tournament U17-U19

UCL Spring U17-U19 League 

PPP Memorial Day Weekend Tournament U17 only

This progression gives players opportunities to experience 7v7 and 11v11 play, league competition, and tournament environments throughout the year.

Practice Development

Training is built around progressive technical and tactical development. The attached practice curriculum emphasizes possession, passing, movement, attacking, defending, decision-making, and finishing.

The sample 90-minute session progresses through:

• Rondo 5v2: Passing, dribbling, shielding and supporting teammates.

• Ring of Fire: Possession and navigating crowded spaces.

• Liverpool: Defending, counter-attacking and winning the ball higher up the field.

• The Final Boss: Creating passing lanes and advancing through defensive pressure.

• Winging It: Creating numerical advantages through wide players.

• The Big Finish: Possession, combination play and finishing.

The curriculum specifically encourages players to create passing options, move immediately after passing, maintain possession, recognize space and make decisions under pressure.

The 2026/27 program gives high school athletes a way to continue competitive soccer around their school commitments while training consistently and competing throughout the year.

With practices twice a week between Germantown and Derwood, the program is designed to provide a local Montgomery County option for players who want meaningful competition without sacrificing development, academics or other commitments.
